Mental Capacity Act 2005
The Mental Capacity Act 2005 became law in England and Wales fully on the 1st October 2007.
Mental capacity refers to the ability to take decisions for yourself about your own life. The Act affects how we record information and processes around decisions for or made with people who may lack the capacity to make a decision in some areas of their life.
The Mental Capacity Act 2005 has been introduced to ensure that, as far as possible, all adults can take decisions about their own lives.
We offer briefing sessions, case study seminars, half-day and full day training on the MCA.
In addition we are able to offer consultancy and support in setting up and maintaining multi-disciplinary peer support groups in your area, enabling staff to take on lead or champion responsibilities for the MCA 2005.
